Part One: Finding the Right Pair of Jeans

Everyone needs a go-to pair of jeans that makes them feel like a million bucks, am I right? When you are 5’3 and below, finding the right fit and the proper length is a challenge. I can’t tell you how many times I have been so excited to try on a pair of cute, trendy jeans to find out they swallow me whole in the dressing room. So, that’s why I am here to offer my best tips for finding that go-to pair of jeans for my fellow petites! Here is my first tip-

Tip 1:

These jeans you see in the picture below are one of my favorites! When I first saw them in TJ Maxx I was skeptical. The brand is Hollister and my first thoughts were of me at 15 trying on there ultra low rise light wash jeans and being so disappointed that they didn’t fit my body shape. I decided to give these a try and you know what, Hollister redeemed themselves in my eyes! Finally a pair that fit my waist and legs…they were a little long though. At first, I cuffed them, because they weren’t too bad. Then one day I got really bold and cut them. Now, I love the look of the frayed bottoms and I wouldn’t change it! My advice is, if you have a great pair of jeans that you love and you don’t like them cuffed, cut them! It’s so easy to fix.

All that I did was line up the legs and find out exactly where I want to cut with my scissors, then start cutting a place I am comfortable with. If they are super long, you have a lot of space to play with, so if you do mess up a lot you can try again. Also, you may love it more after you wash them! Mine looked even better after one good wash to get the fraying just right and the line being straight doesn’t matter as much.

Now, the next time you are buying jeans you can look at them a little differently now. Tag me in your pictures and let me know how it goes! 🙂
