Morning Skincare Routine ☀️

I don’t know about you, but as I get older I start to care more and more about my skincare routine. I wanted to do a detailed blog post on what works for me right now, because if it can help you too then that’s what it’s all about! 🤗

Step 1

This step can change depending on if I worked out in the morning. Right now I’m having to wear a mask during my Orangetheory class, so when I do that first thing in the morning I wash my face with this cleanser: aKwa oil to foam cleanser. It goes on SO smooth and gets my skin so clean. The main ingredient is fermented green tea and it’s part of a Korean skincare line that I love!

Step 2

I use a serum from the same brand called aKwa Precious Pool Vitamin Essence. This serum has a stable form of Vitamin C in it and makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized. Honestly, it’s the only serum that I’ve found that I genuinely love and use twice a day.

Step 3

For the third step, I use an eye cream from the same aKwa skincare line called Ripple Refine Eye Cream. It’s light, yet moisturizing and my under eyes seem to like it. For me, I don’t really get eye cream if I’m being honest. I have very naturally dark under eyes, so I’ve never used a product that has actually lightened them, but this one definitely moisturizes well.

Step 4

One of my all time favorite affordable brands right now is the Ordinary brand! I’m sure you’ve heard all about it on social media especially TikTok. I have a couple of the products and this one takes the cake. The Hyaluronic Acid is SO GOOD. This product literally soaks into your skin and leaves it looking so plump. I love to put this down my neck as well!

Step 5

I like to put on a lip balm or chapstick and I think this is a very small, but important step! Especially in the fall and winter, my lips can dry so badly. I started making this a step, because it helps remind me to take care of my lips too! If you can find a lip balm with an SPF in it it’s even better. A few of my favorites: Nuxe Lip Balm Stick, Baby Lips, and Lip Glowy Balm.

Step 6

Sunscreen is life. Do NOT skip this step! I spent most of my 20’s not wearing much of it and I was so wrong. I think I was saved in some ways because most of my foundations had some SPF in it, but not enough. I use the aKwa skincare SPF called DayStar Shade and it’s incredibly good under makeup. It blends well and leaves your skin looking really pretty. It’s an SPF 40 and it’s reef safe so it doesn’t hurt our oceans!

Enjoy your skincare routine and buy products that work for YOU! I have tried all kinds of things because a blogger told me to, but at the end of the day it’s your unique skincare journey. I want you to find the products you love! I hope the ones I showed get you one step closer to that! 😊
